CALL FOR TUTORIALS/WORKSHOPS PROPOSALS

The 2009 IEEE International Conference on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics (SMC2009) will be held in San Antonio, Texas, USA, October 11-14, 2009.  The Program Committee is seeking tutorial and workshop proposals which are of interest to conference participants (in relevant research and industrial topics under SMC).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tutorials:
The tutorial program provides an opportunity for conference participants to explore cutting-edge topics; to acquire new insights, knowledge, and skills; and to learn from peer who is leader in his field.  Thus, we encourage various leaders in the respective technical areas to offer tutorials so as to share your expertise with the peer in the research and industrial community.

Both half-day and full-day tutorials are acceptable. The primary criteria for selection are the topic relevance, technical expertise of the instructors, anticipated level of interest and impact.
Each proposal should include the followings:
1. Title
2. Abstract (indicate if full or half day tutorial is proposed)
3. Intended audience
4. Short biography of presenters (include complete address, phone, and email)
Tutorial attendees must pay the SMC 2009 registration fee and tutorial fee for each tutorial.

Workshops:
Workshops enable researchers to discuss and exchange ideas on selected topics under SMC.  The duration can be half a day or a full day.  Workshops should be an interactive events and not mini-conferences.  Workshops with creative organizations that ensure good interactions among the participants will be desirable.  The organizers of the workshops are preferred to be from different institutions in order to bring different perspectives to the workshop topic.  The organizers of the accepted workshop proposals will be responsible for their own reviewing process, publicity, and proceedings.
Each proposal should include the followings:

  1. Title for the proposed tutorial workshop;
  2. Workshop length (half-day or full-day);
  3. List of presenters;
  4. Brief (one sentence) statement of the workshop goal;
  5. Brief (one paragraph) synopsis of the workshop content; and
  6. Outline of major topics.

Workshop attendees must pay the SMC 2009 registration fee and workshop fee for each workshop.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Proposals for SMC'2009 tutorials and workshops should be sent electronically to the email below.  The IEEE SMC 2009 Program Committee reserves the right to cancel any tutorial/workshop if deadlines are missed or if too few attendees register for the tutorial/workshop. The organizers of workshops and individual giving tutorial will have to work closely with the conference organizers to finalize the details.
